How to Get Rid of Head Lice
Have you or your children's scalp been itchy these days? You may have also noticed rashes on your head. These are all signs of a head lice attack.
It is easy for kids to get head lice because they are in schools where there are many other children who may transmit the head lice. Kids tend to share things including hats and clothing resulting in the head lice transferring over.
The first step to getting rid of head lice is to not get them in the first place. Do not borrow other people's things that have touched their hair. These things range from clothes and hats to combs.
To
get rid of head lice that have already infected you, get some head lice killing shampoo. These shampoos have pesticide ingredients that can get rid of the head lice. Usually, there are not enough pesticides in the shampoo to harm you, but just enough to kill the head lice.
You should also use a head lice comb and go through your hair carefully. You need to remove not only the head lice but also their eggs.
Put all your clothes and other fabrics into the washer and dryer and set the heat up high to get rid of the head lice. The hot water should kill the head lice.
If you have fabric that can not be washed, put it in a sealable plastic bad. This will trap the head lice in the bag and eventually they will die.
Vacuum your entire house and pay particular attention to areas where you may have had contact with such as the couch or chairs.
Sometimes head lice shampoo may not be enough to get rid of the head lice. Some head lice are just hardier. In that case, you should get prescription head lice medication.
When you are using the medications and strange symptoms develop, then you should discontinue use of the product and see your doctor.
